DENVER POST:
Of all the elements that require suspension of disbelief this week - New York Yankees fans swallowing their tongues, Coors Light Field reappearing, a pianist playing the national anthem from the second deck - none is harder to fathom than this: two. That's the Yankees' run total in the first two games of this series. With six all-stars in their lineup, including a pair of potential Hall of Famers, the Yankees' bats have gone from legendary to linguini.Welcome to bizzaro world, where the Yankees are flailing and the Rockies are contending. This warm reality confronted the Rockies after their convincing 6-1 victory Wednesday night at sold-out Coors Field.

NY TIMES:
Rockies 6, Yankees 1

Once Again, Yankees’ Bats Are Stifled by
Rockies
DENVER, June 20 — The Yankees came here as the hottest team in the American League. With their rollicking offense in the thin air of Colorado against a traditional also-ran, the Yankees had reason to believe they would thrive at Coors Field.
But it has not turned out that way, and the Yankees will ask Roger Clemens on Thursday to try to prevent a sweep by the inspired Colorado Rockies. The Yankees managed just one run for the second night in a row Wednesday, falling meekly to Jeff Francis and the Rockies, 6-1.

DENVER (AP) -- The Bronx Bombers have bombed on this trip to Coors Field. "It's huge. Two games against the Yankees, we've given up two runs. You can't say enough about the pitching," said Matt Holliday, whose two-run homer in the bottom of the sixth erased New York's 1-0 lead."Our pitching has kept us in games and our bullpen has been unbelievable. When you're getting that kind of pitching, you'll win a lot of games."The Rockies sure have. They're a major league-best 19-7 since May 22 and have won a club record six straight series and are 8-0-1 in their last nine, the best stretch in franchise history.
