LAS VEGAS
We're (me, Donna & LeeAnne - HS friends) are in Vegas for the 4th July (Mon-Thu).
Had a good flight, 111 degrees in Vegas today--that's HOT! Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville for lunch per tradition. Took the Monorail to the MGM (we're staying at the Imperial Palace-only $50/night, center of the Strip) to the 1/2 price show tix and got a tix to see Mama Mia tomorrow night at the Mandalay Bay. A $60 price for a seat in the front 18 rows is darn good-usu a $100 tix so I'm happy w/ that. The other item on my agenda was golf but scratch that--it's too dang hot. Donna & LeeAnne took a later flight (out of Co/Sp) and should be here soon.
We ended up going for a steak/shrimp ($11) dinner at Hurrah's and hanging out listening to a live band in front of Hurrah's. All of these bands out here are really good. Then I watched LeeAnne & Donna lose their money in the penny slots. Who plays and why would you want to play pennies? I lost $20 today in the qtr slots so I don't have much to brag about either. Steve Scott taught me how to play slots though--and sometimes it does pay off--just not today!
