Beth Moore (World Arena, Colorado Springs)

Just got back from a very encouraging Beth Moore conference this weekend. It was packed with powerful music from the praise team and her passionate biblical teaching--she is a great teacher!

Fri 5/2 (7-9p): Ran into Rhonda Madsen (Moreland) and her friend Holly so was able to sit with them (this was not a coincidence that we "ran" into each other). Afterwards went to Denny's for pie/laughs.

Her total weekend message included these 7 principals taken from Matthew 16:24-28:

1. Christ offers us a life we trade the world to have.
2. This life can't be sought, only found.
3. This life's biggest stumbling block will be self-protection.
4. The cost of missing this life is infinitely higher than the cost of losing it.
5. In this life, denying ourselves means denying self the right to rob us of God (Eccel. 2:1-11, 17): denying selfishness, denying our egos, denying addictions
6. Do not give up!
7. The losses we give up to find Him, He will replace!

I really liked her analogy of the Extreme Makeover video clip to describe how God is preparing a mansion for his followers and how good that will be--that was very cool!



I listened to this book on cd while traveling (300+ pgs for me = cd). I thought it was very good...mostly the messages I hear him preach on Sundays but he always says it just right. Here's a review of it on amazon.com.
