100 Mile Motorcycle Ride

Leon (he's the guy who works on my bike) and I rode our motorcycles to Rustic today! It was awesome! We stopped in Masonville at a Mercantile Store that had the coolest murals painted outside the store (built in 1896--that would be a long, long time ago) and then went up the Poudre Canyon to Rustic where we stopped for lunch. We went another 10 miles up the canyon to see this little waterfall that he wanted to see. I got a little nervous when I saw the typical 2p mtn rain coming but we didn't get rained on at all--the roads were wet ahead of us but at least we didn't have to ride in a downpour. I was amazed at the power of the water from the snow runoff. Can you see the "sleeping elephant" in this pic of Sleeping Elephant Mtn? Pretty cool, huh! We're planning another ride July 30th to Estes Park. I'm so proud of this bike! I got about 60 miles/gallon and there were no problems. Him and I laughed about how just one year ago when I bought my bike new off of eBay and all the trouble of getting it 'broke in', I would have never thought a year later that I would feel comfortable riding it 100 miles-HA! It's awesome though--first I would just go around the block, then through the neighborhoods, then out more into traffic, and it has just kept growing. Before you know it--I'll be going coast to coast! This was one fun experience!
