Mike Shanahan fired...

I watched the press conferences today and cried when Mike Shanahan (not balling but you know...) spoke. The only other press conference that made me cry was John Elway's. This guy is a class act and I've always been afraid of what would happen if he ever left us.

Although it is true that administratively you have to make this decision when you are not winning but I don't think this year was a fair judgment with all of the injuries. What happens to all the pathetic defensive players (that give up 51 pts when a playoff game is on the line) and their $$million salaries--I'm mad at the players who didn't perform including Jay Cutler who runs his mouth too much.

I would respect this from Pat Bowlen if he was a respectable guy but he's not. I like that he wants to bring someone in to win a Superbowl but Shanahan has already done that...twice! You have to have the talent and we haven't since Elway has been gone. We've had 3 QB's who haven't gotten it done: Griese, Plummer and now Cutler and of course, the defense, every frickin' year!

Some other program will be lucky to have him and I can't imagine who could be better than him in this role. I mean, how many NFL coaches, Hall of Fame at that, have multiple championships?
